A Tutor/Mentor Leadership and Networking Conference has been hosted in Chicago every six months since May 1994.
In Jan-May 2015 a team of students participating in the Indian University IVMOOC looked at the attendance list for all conferences since 1993 and began to create a new set of network analysis and GIS maps. This blog article describes that work and the goal.
October 2015 status:
- No conference will be held in November 2015 due to lack of funds and growing competition for participant attention from groups like Illinois Mentoring Partnership, Chicago Literary Alliance, ThriveChicago, etc. People who have participated in past conferences have encouraged me to continue these, so will make the attempt in May/June 2016 if funds can be found. At the same time, I continue to emphasis on-line connections between programs, volunteers and supporters.

Visit the Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC Page on YouTube and view videos from panel discussions held at past conferences and different locations.
This Tedx site shows a potential that we might try to develop.
Think of other ways we can share ideas and motivate more people to work with us. Here's a page on the conference web site with videos created by us over past few years. If we could find a designer to build a page like this where people could upload their own videos, and where people could comment and rate them we could lower the work involved in aggregating them and begin to give awards based on most views.
Here is are links to other presentations delivered on-line. With help we can do more of this
